One Team Show!
Following the painful defeat against Omonoia, our team managed to find the mental reserves to do what should be done and got the coveted victory against Ermis, prevailing 3-1. For yet another game, our team took advantage of playing at home and prevailed over Ermis, reducing their overall difference to 4 points. Despite the disappointment over the last few days, our players and the coaching team displayed their persistence and exceptional teamwork and accomplished a very important victory.
During the first half, our team made a dynamic start and created several opportunities to open the score, with the biggest being that of Kacharava at 13’, who left Nuredinoski behind him, even though the shot was not successful. Our team then became more aggressive and had significant opportunities, as the one with Zelaya at 20'. Ermis tried to exert pressure during the end of the first half, but was unable to open the score thanks to the proper defensive function of our team.
Our team had an ideal start during the second half as it was fortunate to open the score during its first opportunity with a shot by Filipov at 49'. The spectacle continued with Zelaya at 70' who scored with a strong shot. Ermis uselessly tried to react but 5 minutes later Krachunov scored the final 3-0, dispelling any hopes which Ermis may have had for a grading profit.
All Ermis managed was to reduce to 3-1 at 85' with a header after a corner. It is noteworthy that our team lost a classic opportunity at 90’ to further expand the score with Illuridze who passed the keeper but unfortunately missed.
This victory certainly leaves us satisfied. We are satisfied not only for the 3 points but also for our team’s response after the game against Omonoia. Our team seemed to want the victory more than its opponent, something that was clearly evident on the field. Our team has also shown that it has learned from its mistakes and this time it was able to manage the result which was in its favor and hold it until the end.
Our joy is surely great, but today is a new day and therefore our attention now turns to the game against Omonoia for the Cup’s 16 on Wednesday. Our players are already on the field for a morning workout and have already entered Cup mood.
